King + Duke Birthday Dinner

My ATL girls and I celebrated our friend Sam’s birthday at King + Duke recommended by Hoor. This literary themed restaurant has a bookshelf full with books, complete with a ladder in the entrance. The restaurant exudes a warm ambience with kerose lit tiny lamps creating a cozy atmosphere. Once seated, our beautiful hostess served us with warm bread and whipped butter.

The menu is seasonal and many delicious entrees to choose from. We ordered the following from the menu:

GEORGIA KALE SALAD, peppercorn dressing, walnuts, dates, aged gouda …

GRILLED SWORDFISH, toasted pecans, endive, brown butter vinaigrette …

GULF BLACK GROUPER, celery root, gribiche, calabrian chilis …

WHOLE ROASTED CAULIFLOWER, chimichurri, roasted local vegetables…

“PUNCHED” POTATOES, zhoug aioli, feta …

CRISPY BRUSSELS SPROUTS, chiles, soy, mint+thai basil …

BANANA WALNUT CAKE, maple, caramel, chantilly cream …

STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING, smoked marshmallow anglaise …

Personally, I wasn’t too fond of the Sticky Toffee pudding but my friends raved about it. I think I’m just not the pudding type.

Overall, I really enjoyed the food and ambience at King + Duke. Definitely worth a trip with your friends or even date night!

A Brunch Affair

This past week I hosted a brunch and called it “A Brunch Affair”. In my mind, I was thinking an elegant brunch for my friends in Atlanta. I had a hard time deciding on the menu as yes we are Americans but we need to feed the desi appetite as well. With suggestions from Sam, my friend, I decided on the menu.

Haleem, Chicken Karahi (boneless because we must be elegant), deviled eggs, mini muffins, croissants, yogurt parfait, avocado salad with crostinis, mixed fruit, and crudités. I felt as if it was a perfect balance of foods from both worlds. And it seemed to make everyone happy!

The brunch idea did stem from a dress. I usually have parties around a song, dress, or something out of the norm. I recently purchased this gorgeous nude & white lace maxi dress from Forever 21 and thought I need to have a brunch! And what’s better than to host a brunch for your beautiful new friends?

Not much:)

Gucci Marmont Sandal

This Gucci Marmot sandal is on my wishlist at Nordstrom. The suede finish and the super styling GG Marmot metalware makes me drool. These shoes can be paired with jeans (flared or skinny) and a plain white top taking the plain jean look to another level. They can also be worn with a cute little dress and rock them on a warm spring evening. Sigh…dreams of spring!

erm, sorry got distracted. Back to these shoes and lusting. I can imagine over 20 outfits that I can wear these shoes with and they’d look amazing! I could almost convince myself that I’m walking through the streets of New York  in the Gucci sandals and feeling like a Gucci model. I can’t wait to get my feet in these shoes and walk away…:)

Which one is your favorite, black or red?

Master Palette by Mario

Master Palette by Mario seems to make it to my favorites list these days! The dark shades of brunette and burgundy and the stunnning olive green (Bronx) are my go tos. This palette has been used for date nights and girls nights out.

It definitely is the palette that has it all. Highlight colors are Hollywood, 5th Ave , and Marina. Smokey colors are Lula, Isabel, and Violeta. Shimmers are NYC, Kim, Muse, Marina, Bronx, and Paris.

Just be prepared to make a mess as the shadow is definitely crumbly!

GF Birthday dinner outfit

Friday night was a Bollywood dance party for a friend and it was a cute idea! One hour of dance class then after party. Since it was bollywoodish, I opted again for Pakistani styling with a crop top and Valentinos to give the outfit the oomph.

The more I think about my outfits the more I realize that my personal style is very much so fusion. I like to wear my Pakistani dresses with a western twist. I appreciate my American and Pakistani cultures very much so and it emanates through my lifestyle.

GF Birthday Dinner Outfit

Hi y’all! (Yes I’ve moved to the south)

I wanted to post a few details from last nights dinner for a friend’s birthday. I chose to wear a soft golden velvet skirt and a black full sleeves crop top (pretty modest). I wasn’t sure if I could whip out my minis and Stuart Weitzmans because I’m still getting to know the girls here in Atlanta and wanted to be respectable first time around. That’s where the modesty kicks in, lol!

I paired the outfit with a very traditional kundan neck piece which brought the outfit an adequate amount of the wow factor. The shoes were Guiseppe Zanottis which are not my favorite ones but had to wear them some day. The bag, of course, the Chanel bad boy.

It was chilly and decided to wear my brown leather jacket adding all the hues of darkness to the look yet not emo!

Seaberry Skin Nutrition Cleansing Oil by Fresh

Hi y’all!

I wanted to write a review for this product as I am loving it these days! On dry skin, pump out the oil and rub it in on your face, including the water proof mascared eyes. I use a little water just to get some more cleansing in. You rinse your face and voila the mascara and all the makeup you had on your face is gone. I have yet to find out where does all the makeup go? This product literally melts the eye makeup and face makeup off your face. And because it’s an oil with all natural ingredients, it leaves your face moisturized and glistening. Follow the routine with some serum, eye cream, and moisturizer (no toner needed) and you’re all set to put your beautiful face to rest.
